Postpartum Care
Postpartum Care
Postpartum care begins with a prenatal consultation. Together we can create a postpartum care plan, determine what a family’s growth edges may be, and where their strengths lie. This meeting helps us to better understand what a successful fourth trimester looks like for you.
Assistance during the postpartum period is focused on the birthing parent’s recovery, the non-gestational parent’s experience, and newborn care. I offer emotional and educational guidance while addressing common challenges associated with chest/body or bottle feeding, caring for multiples, creating routine, and anxiety around newborn care. Other areas of support include creatively adapting methods of care to accommodate parents with limited mobility, encouraging spiritual connections when navigating self care after a traumatic birthing experience, and referral to medical professionals as needed.
Birthing Care
Birthing Care
A safe birth is a human right. I offer birthing support that is based in informed consent, intuition, and empowerment. It is my job as your doula to help you develop a birth plan that meets all of your preferences and needs, as well as prepares you for how we can approach things if the plan changes. When I am your doula, I ensure that however your delivery pans out, you will be supported in every way possible.
When we work together for your birth, I offer 2 prenatal visits, support over phone calls and text, labor and delivery support, and a postpartum visit. When we meet, we will talk about birthing education, comfort measures used during birth, pain management, and postpartum planning. I ensure that every family is supported throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum periods.
